Filmpoetry event, presented by Susannah Ramsay (filmmaker and PhD researcher, University of Stirling) and with guest speakers Guy Sherwin, Jen Hadfield and Jennifer Wicks.

This event explores the unique relationship between film and poetry through poetry readings, film screenings and discussion relating to the artistic process, memory, nature and landscape.

Guest speakers include London-based British filmmaker and artist Guy Sherwin, poet Jen Hadfield and Glasgow-based artist Jennifer Wicks, plus Stirling University practice-based PhD researchers and postgraduate creative writing students.

Guy Sherwin will be projecting a 16mm print of his black and white film Messages, and Jennifer Wicks will screen two short HD films Genius Loci and Sound of Snow. Susannah Ramsay will screen her new filmpoem The Essence of Place.

Kevin MacNeil, novelist, poet, screenwriter and tutor will be inviting postgraduate creative writing students to read their work.

The guest speakers will take part in a short Q&A session to give insight into combining film practice with poetry writing and the creative process.
