Connie Rideout - Creative Activities Officer

My introduction to the arts began as a child, with many fond memories of attending Macrobert for shows and taking part in art projects. In my younger years, it was obvious that theatre and music were where my heart was, even now I can rarely be seen without a pair of headphones on (no need to ask what I'm listening to, it's probably Taylor Swift).

It was no surprise that I would get my degree in popular music before starting my freelance career running songwriting workshops and teaching piano. However, the theatre environment was always my calling, and what an amazing feeling it was to return to Macrobert as Creative Activities Officer in 2022.

Now as part of my role, I have the privilege of helping a whole new generation explore their love for the theatre, performing, and art.

When I'm not behind my desk organising the classes, projects, and events we all love, you can find me singing nursery rhymes and telling stories for under 5's at Bookbug or helping out at some of our classes. Outside of work, I am usually running around after my two children or golden retriever but when I do get that rare moment of peace, I love to spend my time baking and rewatching the same shows I have already seen hundreds of times.
