Macrobert Youth Theatre Company (MYTC) is an ambitious drama group often involved in projects like National Theatre Connections – a nationwide celebration of new plays for young people. We are looking for committed, hard-working and ambitious young theatre makers (16-25 years) to join MYTC. We're holding auditions on Sunday 22nd July.
The company rehearse each Wednesday from 6.30pm-9pm and will work to various performances throughout the year.
Audition: Sun 22 Jul, 10.30am-4.30pm
The audition will be made up of a group workshop from 10.30am-1pm and an individual audition. Participants will be given a ten minute slot between 2pm - 4.30pm for their individual audition after we have received a completed application form.
For individual audition you should prepare a speech from a contemporary, published play. The speech should last between 1-3 minutes.
Macrobert Youth Theatre Company (MYTC) is an ambitious drama group often involved in projects like National Theatre Connections – a nationwide celebration of new plays for young people. MYTC is led by our Drama Artist, Daniel Livingston. Daniel is an award-winning multi-skilled theatre maker who has worked across the UK and internationally. He has worked on many different productions in many different roles from director, designer, scenographer, makeup artist to actor and performer. His professional work has included notable theatre and film companies such as Chanel 4, National theatre of Scotland, Citizens theatre, Cirque du Soleil and BBC. Alongside this, he has delivered a variety of workshops for young people and professional artists. His practice merges different art forms together to create a strong visual performance.
Macrobert Youth Dance Company (MYDC) is an innovative group of aspiring young dancers, who perform in annual national performances including YDance Destinations and Go Dance. MYDC is led by our Dance Artist, Sara Kemal.
Sara has experience of performing, facilitating and creating dance. She has performed for a range of choreographers, touring work throughout Scotland and has worked with creative learning teams to lead workshops for companies like the Edinburgh International Festival, Scottish Ballet, YDance and Scottish Dance Theatre. In 2016 Sara was one of five choreographers selected to be mentored by Kerry Nicholls as part of Scottish Ballet’s Anserinae Mentorship Scheme and she has continued to develop her artistic practice through a residency at Citymoves Dance Agency and presented her work as part of Dance Live Festival 2017.
