New Creative Voices is an outreach project led by Macrobert Arts Centre since 2015.
The aim of this project is to reach young people aged 8 to 18, who for them, drama and dance are not easily accessible, and they currently do not make use of Macrobert Arts Centre's facilities. By going out into community settings, the young people are fully supported to develop their creativity, confidence and communication skills in a comfortable environment.
Each project in the community is free, helping break down the barriers of cost and travel for young people accessing creative classes. With no two projects ever the same, our artists respond to the specific needs and aspirations of the participants involved, working from groups of 2 to 30, monitoring, adjusting and evaluating continually as the programme unfolds.
From primary to secondary schools, after school clubs, residential units and charities such as Barnardos and Plus, we work with a varied range of organisations.
