Helen Milne Productions presents
Escape to the Great Indoors
Three lost souls make a break for freedom and embark on a journey of discovery. But it’s April 2020 and no journey is as simple as A to B - even to the front door.
Distance Remaining follows their extraordinary quests to reconnect with the people in their lives, the places where they live, and the selves they might become.
Boldly blending film, theatre and a transporting electronic score, Distance Remaining is a comic, touching and ultimately uplifting reflection on what is important now.
Starring Karen Dunbar (Chewin’ the Fat and The Karen Dunbar Show), Reuben Joseph (National Theatre of Scotland’s Rapunzel) and Dolina MacLennan (Still Game and 7:84’s The Cheviot, The Stag and The Black Black Oil).
From the producer of hit Scottish musical Islander, Distance Remaining is written by Stewart Melton (BBC Radio 4) with an original soundtrack by Louise McCraw (Goodnight Louisa), directed for the internet by Caitlin Skinner (NTS’s Scenes for Survival).

Following the virtual performance of Distance Remaining on Thursday 15th April, Macrobert Arts Centre is hosting a Zoom Q&A with the show's cast and creative team.
This unique production boldly blends theatre, film and an original electronic soundtrack, telling a trilogy of stories against the backdrop of April 2020's lockdown.
Macrobert's Artistic Director Julie Ellen will chair this informal conversation with the Distance Remaining team to share a special insight into the development of the show. It is your chance to question the creatives about their inspirations, creative processes, the challenges of rehearsing and filming under lockdown and anything they have learnt along the way.
The conversation starts at 8.45PM on Thursday 15th April and will last for approximately 45 minutes. [Entry is free for Distance Remaining ticket holders on Thursday 15th April].
