Macrobert Arts Centre is proud to present Seven Songs for a Long Life in partnership with Strathcarron Hospice and the Scottish Documentary Institute.

Local filmmaker Amy Hardie came to Strathcarron Hospice with instructions to “throw away your preconceptions and just hang out”. Four years later she and the patients have collaborated to make a sensitive and thoughtful feature documentary, which invests a potentially downbeat subject with “exhilarating joie de vivre” and shows that we do not have to go through the journey to death alone

Six hospice patients, a nurse, and a fundraiser at the Hospice share tender, vulnerable, and funny moments of their lives. Inspired by the musically talented staff, and an intimate filming process, the patients deal with their terminal diagnoses through humour and a passion for music.

Please join us for to celebrate the world premiere, including special guests, an opening performance by Strathcarron Choir and a Q&A between Amy and the main cast! Get ready for songs, laughs, and maybe the odd tear.
