Jeannette Walls grew up in a family of nomads led by an eccentric father. They moved to a new place every few months as their father encouraged them to believe their life was a glorious adventure, to disctract from the poverty and instability. Inspired by his joyful, wild nature, Jeannette would go on to carve out a successful life for herself on her own terms.
