After suffering a severe head injury when a horse stamped on his skull Brady Blackburn, a star in the South Dakota rodeo, is told by doctors to give up the sport. It is both his passion and his lifeline, but to keep riding might kill him. While his sister Lily is mentally disabled and his father drinks, gambles and womanises, Brady is the crutch that supports the family – but without the rodeo, he’s facing a life of misery.
