The Macrobert Veterans Group

In 2016 Macrobert Arts Centre played host to 5 Soldiers, a dance piece by the Rosie Kay dance company which told just some of the stories of those in the British Armed Forces. As part of this many community projects were also delivered with schools, local military families and veterans. From this our current offer for Armed Forces Veterans was born. Find out more...

Y Dance Horizons

Horizons Stirling is a FREE Stirling based inclusive youth dance company for young people aged 12 to 19 years old, with and without disabilities.

New guidance issued by the Scottish Government on Tue 17 Nov has placed Stirling into Tier 4, which requires our cinema to remain closed. Although disappointing, we fully support any measures needed to keep our community safe. The temporary closure will be until, initially, Fri 11 Dec. Artwork In Solidarity With Black Lives Matter

A new piece of artwork, championing the fight against inequality, has been installed at the University of Stirling, in solidarity with the global Black Lives Matter movement. Created by Alloa-based artist, Suzanne Williams, the artwork - Do Better - is designed to highlight those who have experienced and strived against injustices. Join a conversation with Wezi Mhura (producer of the Scottish Black Lives Matter Mural Trail) and Suzanne Williams (artist) about their work. Cinema may be back on the big screen at Macrobert Arts Centre, but we're continuing to explore and develop the digital aspects of our programming and are delighted to announce a very special online event – From Scotland With Love. Taking place on Sat 12 Sep at 7pm audiences will not only enjoy a screening of the documentary From Scotland With Love, they will also get the chance to live-zoom Q&A with the film’s award-winning director – Virginia Heath.

Macrobert update in relation to the Performing Arts Venues Relief Fund Since the COVID-19 crisis forced the closure of Macrobert on 16 March 2020 the most pressing need has been to survive. Over the years a unique blend of live performance, cinema, exhibitions, activities, and social gatherings - made and shared by people of all ages, from all backgrounds, from across the Forth Valley region and beyond – has evolved.
