1st September 2017
Sensitive, sophisticated and compelling, Adam is a journey from female to male, and from Egypt to Glasgow.
Receiving 5-star reviews at this year's Fringe, as well as a Fringe First and Herald Angel Award, the play explores the experience of transgender people in the 21st century.
Born into a girl's body, Adam always knew he was really a boy. But in a deeply conservative society where being yourself can get you killed, Adam has no choice but to flee.
Feel Adam's pain, fear and sense of relief at not only finally being able to finally be himself but discovering others in a similar situation. In a world first, and broadcast via webcam, Adam is joined on stage by a choir of transgender and non binary individuals from across the globe.
One not to miss this September. For many of the Macrobert staff who were able to preview the show during August, they found it to be their highlight of the Festival, with many of them moved to tears.
