Cinema may be back on the big screen at Macrobert Arts Centre, but we're continuing to explore and develop the digital aspects of our programming and are delighted to announce a very special online event – From Scotland With Love. Taking place on Sat 12 Sep at 7pm audiences will not only enjoy a screening of the documentary From Scotland With Love, they will also get the chance to live-zoom Q&A with the film’s award-winning director – Virginia Heath.
Virginia Heath’s BAFTA nominated documentary, From Scotland With Love, offers a look back on twentieth century human experience and has a superb musical score by Scottish composer King Creosote,. The film is a journey into our collective past. Ordinary people, their names and identities largely forgotten, appear from the past to take a starring role. Brilliantly woven together, these silent individuals become fully-fledged characters who share their stories and are given voice by King Creosote’s poetic music and lyrics.
Virginia Heath, the filmmaker, will also be taking part in a live zoom Q&A after the online screening giving audience members the opportunity to ask questions. Virginia is a multi-award-winning writer/director with joint New Zealand and UK nationality. She directs both documentary and drama films including the acclaimed, BAFTA nominated, From Scotland With Love and Berlinale award winning fiction Relativity. King Creosote, the composer, is a much-loved independent singer-songwriter from Fife, Scotland. His soundtrack for From Scotland With Love was a breakthrough success and received incredible praise from the likes of Rolling Stone and The Guardian.
The screening will be closed-captioned and there will be a BSL interpreter for the Q&A.
