What's On This Easter

Is it just us or does anyone else feel like we were only talking about Christmas holidays? Then in a blink of an eye we're almost a quarter of the way through the year and approaching Easter. With school holidays kicking on this Friday (31 Mar), don't fret if one, you have nothing planned, and two, need a back up for those rainy days. Fingers crossed we don't need to worry about the latter.

Let's Celebrate With More 50p Tickets

We're continuing our celebrations of 50 years since the founding of the University of Stirling with the release of more 50p tickets for University of Stirling Students.  Our first round sold out really quickly so if you want to bag a bargain make sure you're in the queue in plenty of time for 1pm release. This round of tickets includes *every live event from May to Aug at Macrobert Arts Centre.

What a Riddy! A Celebration of all things Ginger.

A flaming fanfare of redheaded songs and stories as the star of BBC’s River City Gary Lamont goes back to his ginger roots…    River City star Gary Lamont is coming to the Macrobert Arts Centre on Thur 16 Mar with his first ever one-man show What A Riddy!, which pays a musical tribute to his fellow redheads, from Cilla to Sonia and Lulu to Bette, alongside funny stories and tales of life as a carrot-top.

Icarus Theatre Collective presents their sexy, bloody and fast paced tour of Hamlet. Reimagined, this gripping ensemble embraces Shakespeare’s brutality and amplifies the exhilaration and violence of one of the greatest plays ever written.

Get to know Black Beauty: The Play

Saddle up and gallop headlong into this quirky re-telling of a classic. Blending storytelling and music, there’s lots of fun and adventure in this brand new show that's sure to warm your heart. But before the show canters its way to us on Sat 18 Feb, here's ten fun facts about the book and the new production.

MADE IN INDIA: Parenting, People and Cultures.

Gujarat is known as the the surrogacy capital of India, an industry estimated to be worth over $1bn a year. It is also the setting for brand new play, Made in India, which tours to Macrobert Arts Centre on Tue 14 Feb, 7.30pm. This thrilling new play will explore the global and personal implications of commercial surrogacy through the eyes of three different women. Belgrade Theatre spoke to playwright Satinder Chohan to find a bit more about her new play and the inspiration for writing it.

We're going back in time... to 1967!

In 2017 Macrobert Arts Centre is celebrating 50 years of the University of Stirling! It was on 13 November 1967 The Queen gave formal approval to the proposals for the Charter and Statutes To celebrate their past, present and future, the University of Stirling are hosting many events throughout 2017.  With public lectures, exhibitions, family fun days and reunions there are plenty of opportunities to celebrate with them.
