In 2017 there's going to be lots to celebrate! As well as the University of Stirling's 50th Birthday, we're bringing you even more fantastic live events, event cinema and opportunities to get involved in next year. 

Cracking Cinema This Christmas

While panto may not be everyone’s cup of tea, Macrobert’s Filmhouse has plenty of treats to keep you entertained during the month of December. Making use of their Playhouse Studio space, there’s the opportunity to watch festive films such as Elf, Love Actually and the heart-warming classic, It’s a Wonderful Life.

Arrived in our venue today, and for the festive season, is the cast and crew for a terrific show for age five and under called How to be a Christmas Tree. Opening on Tue 29 Nov it is guaranteed to get audiences rockin’ around the tree - depending whether the little seedlings of the Tall and True Tree Nursery have what it takes to grow big and strong. 

Movies On Tour this Christmas

People receiving hospital or hospice care will next month be given the chance to share some festive film magic. We're organising a film tour to head to Strathcarron Hospice in Denny at the start of December to host a number of screenings of the festive classic White Christmas. We will then head to the children's ward at Forth Valley Royal Hospital where Arthur Christmas will be screened. The tour has been sponsored by Stirling consultancy firm Projects On Track.

Tis' the Panto season and there are Weans in the Wood at Macrobert

There’ll be Weans in the Wood at Macrobert Arts Centre this Christmas with a panto extravaganza from the pen of Johnny McKnight. Macrobert’s Artistic Director Julie Ellen is taking the helm, directing a top cast packed with our much loved Stirling regulars, to entertain you.  We open for festive fun on Fri 25 Nov and run until Sat 31 Dec.

Jings, crivens, help ma boab! The Broons are live on stage!

The Broons, Scotland’s most famous fictional family, are coming to Macrobert Arts Centre from Thu 13 Oct to Sat 15 Oct in a World Premiere stage adaptation by Rob Drummond.

This October mid-term break the wonderful balletLORENT are back at Macrobert Arts Centre to present the second of its trilogy of classic Brothers Grimm fairy-tales. This brand new retelling of Snow White is spellbinding dance theatre production and a magical outing for the whole family.
